NZ International Comedy Festival - Auckland, Wellington & regional cities

24 April - 18 May, 2014

In 2013 an extremely large and bright occurrence threatened to paralyse the earth and ripple throughout the solar system. The NZ International Comedy Festival did just that. Forget solar flares, if you want to see something that gets bigger and brighter each year and completely immobilises you with laughter, keep some time free in April and May 2014 when the festival returns to a venue near you.

A clear highlight on the entertainment calendar, the Comedy Festival's broad mainstream appeal has been demonstrated by consistently high audience attendance since its inception in 1993. With an average ticket price of just over $26, the Festival is not only a hugely popular event, but also an extremely accessible one. With comedy performances ranging from stand up, sketch, improv, theatre, children's and musical comedy, there is always something for everyone.

After being held simultaneously over three weeks, (24 April - 18 May), in Auckland and Wellington, the Festival takes to the road with the Comedy Convoy, touring to regional cities across New Zealand.

Although the lineup for the 2014 festival is yet to be announced, a sizeable selection of International and local performers at the very top of their game can be expected. Last years event included the likes of popular Brits Jack Dee and Danny Bhoy, U.S. movie duo "The Wayans Brothers" and Irishman Jimeoin to name but a few. Local talent included artists Urzila Carlson, Michele A'Court, Dai Henwood, Jeremy Elwood, Guy Williams, Ben Hurley, Steve Wrigley and many, many more.

The 2014 NZ International Comedy Festival kicks of with the Old Mout Cider Comedy Gala on Thursday 24 April and the Old Mout Cider First Laughs show on Suday 27 April. Pre-Sale registration is available via the NZ International Comedy Festival website at
